Bad Ass BBQ ~~ Kid Chilleen's Steakhouse~~ Black Canyon City, AZ

Thank you for your support. Attached is the information about our story. Please pass on.

Thanx Scott & Donna Chilleen

The Possible End to Small Business in America

(What All Americans Should Know)

Black Canyon City, Arizona— Scott & Donna Chilleen 602-568-7182

WE ARE IN JEOPARDY OF LOSING OUR BUSINESS

What are the Banks and the Government doing to help small business owners in America? Nothing.

First a little history on a small business in Black Canyon City, Kid Chilleen’s Steakhouse. We are a family owned and operated restaurant in a very rural area. We have been in operation for eight years. We hold 50% of the equity in the property and business and are currently up to date on all of our bills, with the exception of past due property taxes. As we all know, restaurants have been highly affected by the current economic conditions. We have applied for every loan, grant, (Arc), any and all assistance out there, and have been turned down.

Summit Bank informed us that they will begin Foreclosure proceedings on December, 30th 2010 if we do not pay the delinquent property taxes. Our loan is not in any form of jeopardy from non payment of said property taxes until February of 2012.

We currently owe $47,000 in back property taxes. We have asked Summit Bank to attach the $47,000 to the existing loan but they refused even though we have paid over $200,000 in principal on our loan and are current on all mortgage payments. We currently owe $550,000 on a business as well as the property that appraised at over One million dollars. (This makes us a very desirable foreclosure target. We consider this to be a personal attack to put us out of business, rather than to come up with an alternative solution.

We have invested our lives, our money and our future in a business that provides jobs and security to countless numbers of people in our community and all of Arizona. If we go out of business many vendors will lose our business and thus the economic decline continues to accelerate. As of yet there is no bail out plan for small business America. We see this happening all around us every day as small businesses are closing at an alarming rate. Small business is the heart of America and we believe the American public should be aware of the lack of attention being given to their local businesses. (Shop local, spend local, support your local business, it might not be there tomorrow)

We know that we are not the only business going through this, as we watch them close around us, we wonder what can be done. We are holding three Fundraisers to help us get through this tough time. We hope you find this story as interesting as we do and pass it on to others, because all our futures are at stake. Check us out on Facebook and our web site www.badassbbq.net

Listen to Ballad of Easy Rider by The Byrds

Dennis Hopper

George Hanson (Jack Nicholson) with Wyatt (Peter Fonda)

Easy Rider is a 1969 American road movie written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern, produced by Fonda and directed by Hopper. It tells the story of two bikers (played by Fonda and Hopper) who travel through the American Southwest and South with the aim of achieving freedom. The success of Easy Rider helped spark the New Hollywood phase of filmmaking during the late sixties. The film was added to the Library of Congress National Registry in 1998.  Read More about Easy Rider

Excerpts from the blog of Jack Shit

I am the Real JackShit and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I have been a writer since knee high to the priest who molested me.
I am a Comedian, Emcee, Ordained Minister and a Roaster.
I love Choppers old and new and absolutely cherish friendship.
If you are already a friend you know this if not maybe one day you will.

I had changed what I looked like on the outside but nothing about me had changed.  I was still the very same person on the inside.  Boy oh boy did it all change after the haircut and leaving the life.  Strangers would smile at me walking past, old ladies wouldn't clutch their purses as I passed, people stopped trying to run me off the road while on my bike and the biggest thing, no one tried to kill me anymore!  All this changed because I cut my hair and trimmed my beard?  Is the world that screwed up?  For the first year, I spoke to barely a soul.  I stopped attending toy runs, charity events or anything else for that matter.  I just slipped away.  Over time I found that there was a great big hole in my soul.  I wasn't sure ...  Read More

One of the 50/50's, the big one, was won by a woman named Michelle and she promptly returned all of her winnings, there's another 500 bucks for the kids! I don't know in the end what was raised for these boys and it's really none of our business. I know that not only were they left a bit more financially secure, but they got to see the love, the honor and respect that people had for their dad! Kenny did a lot of bad things, made some mistakes, hell, we all do. But more importantly he did so many more GOOD THINGS.... Read More

Motorcycle events in general have changed so very much in the last few years that some are barely recognizable as such.  Not Choppertown!  This is the shit, the real deal, strap what you can on your bike because you don't need any more kind of party on the side of a mountain in Arizona.   Read More

Two wheels through Winter

Iceman vs. Labrador

These books are not about me. They are about us, motorcyclists, adventurers, risk takers, life grabbers, and all others in between. I hope you will see yourself in them or someone you know. Living these trips has been incredible and surviving them, life altering experiences. But slowly reliving them as I put them on paper has been.... Well-you will see!!

ANCIENT RUINS written by ~ Neil Cotter

A long time ago, far away from where we are
we fought a battle for our lives in the shadow of stone mountains
Swinging, cursing, crying, screaming
All the sounds of war about us
when the sun rose we were but two
standing among the ruins not of what we were but of what we are
looking for the next fight
among the ruins

That's a photo of myself and my buddy Ruben Carril. We met on a forum for people who had been traumatically injured. We both got wacked on bikes so we hit it off right away. He lived in Cali and I lived in NJ but the bikes were the thing we had in common. Ruben was sideswiped by a car in traffic and forced UNDER the back wheels of a full gravel truck. He and the bike went up in flames and he was crushed from the pelvis down. After dozens of operations he finally had to concede his left leg was never going to be healthy again and he had to have it amputated above the hip essentially squashing any plans he may have ever had to ride again. His wife tried to take the home he owned before they were married. The people he had working for him in his business tried to take that from him also. They never caught the driver of the car that hit him and the truck driver was NOT held liable so Ruben was stuck with over a million dollars of medical debt, on top of everything else. He never blinked. He went to war with his now ex-wife, his employees and even the state of California in court and won! He got to keep his house, his employees had to pay him for the business and the State of California absorbed his medical bills. He met a girl on the internet from London. They started talking and hit it off right away. After a couple weeks she flew to Cali to meet Ruben. That was all it took. Ruben liquidated all his assets and moved to London. He said he was grateful for everything he still had but he still missed riding and didn't see how he would ever be able to do it again. (He was actually missing his left butt cheek so there was no way he could even sit on a bike or even a trike without sliding off the seat.) Until, I found this one contraption that was like half car, half bike! It had a bucket seat like a car but handlebars and an automatic transmission that made riding the thing possible for him. I sent him a pic of the thing just trying to get his spirit up and boy did he run with it. By the following week he had found a place in South Gate that rented them and had made some plans to ride with a guy who had a Harley. I told him, “If you can ride that thing, I’ll fly to London and we’ll go for a ride” He called me the following Monday and said “pack a bag cause we’re riding!” True to my word, I got on a plane, flew to London and we went for a ride to Stone Henge. I had a buddy who sold T-shirts here in the states who gave me the t-shirts you see in the photo at the top.

Not much sympathy here
